We haven't seen Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton since 2016's epic Captain America: Civil War movie, so it's extremely exciting that he'll be making his MCU return in 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

That's a huge movie for any character to play a part in, given the cosmic nature of the events that will undoubtedly unfold in it - but for a guy who's completely human and non-superpowered like Barton, it might seem a bit above his paygrade and beyond his ability to play a major part in.

But there's actually a theory suggesting he's actually going to be a BIG player in Avengers: Endgame - and that he might even end up being the MVP in the fightback against Thanos.

In this video, we'll be taking you through some convincing evidence that shows that might be the case.

The reasons for this theory are; that the trailer made him a focal point, that he's changed his persona from Hawkeye to Ronin (which seems like a waste of time if he's only going to play a minor part), that he was completely absent from Avengers: Infinity War (suggesting an epic return is on the cards), that he's angry and has nothing to lose (after his family were erased from existence in The Decimation), that there's evidence to suggest he gets recruited late in the movie as a trump card of sorts, that he played down his own worth in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron (which could have been a form of "reverse psychology" as far as foreshadowing his importance was concerned), and that his abilities are suited to taking opponents (i.e. Thanos) by surprise.
