On its own, The Crow is a great film with a tragic story and a lot of dark undertones. The story follows a man who was brutally murdered and then brought back to life by a supernatural Crow. The character is now a pop-culture icon, but The Crow’s production and growth is filled with a lot of tragedy and a cursed nature you couldn’t even describe. On day one of the filming, the movie went through a lot of trials and tribulation as set workers were injured and production got a little crazy. The film sets in North Carolina also had to deal with the Storm of the Century and tons of damages to the set. The worst of everything came during the filming of a scene involving Brandon Lee. The lead actor in the role was supposed to have a blank round shot at him, but instead he got shot with a bullet from a malfunctioning gun. The resulting bulletwound caused him to die of blood loss and plagued all of Hollywood with his untimely death.
The movie wrapped production, showcasing the first and last huge role for Brandon Lee, the son of mega-star Bruce Lee. Both actors died at very young ages while they were filming movies. The curses of the Crow led to a ton of urban legends, rumors, and myths associated with the movie. Watch our full documentary to learn about the tragic details and to help separate truth from fiction!
