After the success of Wonder Woman, Warner Bros is looking to branch out on their female superhero roster with a big-screen version of Supergirl. We’ve seen Supergirl before in the form of the CW television show, so it will be interesting to see how her character develops and grows on the big screen. Well before production has even begun on Supergirl, there are already all types of rumors swirling around about the cast, plot, and other factors.
Today, we will break down everything we know about Supergirl and the future of the movie. One of the first big announcements is the setting of the film. Supergirl is set to take place in the 1970’s, a far cry from other DCEU films like Man of Steel and Man of Steel 2. The movie’s main villain looks like it may be Brainiac. He has had a feud with both Superman and Supergirl in the comic books so the role is fitting. The biggest question will concern whether the film takes place in the DCEU.
